Protect your floor! While most of the homegym owners in the states go with horse stall mats, europeans (germans in our case) usually don’t have this option. Luckily there are a lot of alternatives. Most gym equipment suppliers have their own gym flooring in stock. But there are even companies which specialize on rubber flooring. Like the German company we chose: gummimatten-kaufhaus.de.

We chose their 100x100cm tiles. They’re 20mm thick and weigh 20kg per tile. Because of their hard rubber material and weight, the tiles stay in their place and don’t shift around. We installed them all by ourself. If you have to cut the tiles – measure twice, mark them with chalk where you want to cut and use a good and sharp cutter or knife. (Glue it if needed)

A good gym floor serves as a protection for the ground underneath and also silences the sound of falling objects. It also secures your stand and grip and can keep you from injuries. AND: It also serves as isolation in the winter time!
We highly recommend any gym flooring for your homegym, garage gym or basement gym!
